Here's what I grabbed:

Yellow, by Janni Visman

Godlike, by Richard Hell

Brooklyn Noir 2, The Classics

Bookmark Now: Writing in Unreaderly Times

Aloft, by Change Rae-Lee

Lighthousekeeping, by Jeannette Winterson

The Wonder Spot, by Melissa Banks

The J.A.P. Chronicles, by Isabel Rose

A Girl Becomes A Comma Like That, by Lisa Glatt

Zounds!: A Browser's Dictionary of Interjections

Suicide Casanova, by Arthur Nersesian

Home Land, By Sam Lipsyte

The Ice Queen, by Alice Hoffman

TV a-go-go: Rock on TV from American Bandstand to American Idol, by Jake Austen (only this one is an uncorrected proof, so it looks different)

Tadpole's Promise, by Jeanne Wills, Tony Ross

and

Flanimals by the man, the myth, the legend RICKY GERVAIS

The last two books, being kids' books and all, will end up going to Vicki and her 2 wonderful sons, Dean and Cody.

All others are up for grabs for borrowing (and probably keeping) as soon as I'm done with 'em. I finished Yellow and I'm just about done with The J.A.P. Chronicles.

Is it just real rock n' roll on tv, or do they also include made-up stuff like The Archies, or that episode of Gidget, with the dopey Kerouac-ian folk singer?

Free books and proofs of books? You're so cool, Brewster!

I am not cool, because the books are not sent to me. And I have to wait until the AV Club guy cleans out his office. But it's great fun when he does! Books only, though. Maybe he'll do cds another time. Maybe NOT! Who knows??? ( well, I guess he does).

I think that the book is real bands only. I think. I'm not sure, as I haven't read it yet.

There is a book about those tv/movie bands, though, called the Rocklopedia Fakebandica. Very funny.
